The son of former NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace has signed on with local owners to drive the #97 truck in four races.

Steve Wallace, 26, will take the wheel of the Adrian Carriers/Liz Girl Logistics Chevrolet four times in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Team owner Gary Adrian said he was especially impressed when Steve Wallace traveled from North Carolina to the Quad Cities to prepare the truck over the July 4 holiday weekend.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunity this Adrian Carriers team has given me,” Wallace said.  “I had a lot of fun in the handful of truck races I drove before and Iowa Speedway is one of my very best tracks.”

Wallace takes the wheel of the #97 truck for the first time Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway.

The #97 truck made its debut appearance at Iowa Speedway in 2012.
