Hooters of America will reopen the chain’s Davenport location after temporarily closing it for remodeling.

A public relations representative said the restaurant at 110 East Kimberly Road was scheduled to be closed Monday, July 8, 2013.  A sign on the entrance confirmed the restaurant was temporarily closed.

The Davenport location was a franchise, but will be remodeled and owned by Hooters of America. The company is making the same move at the Council Bluffs location.

Hooters of America is proud to very soon reopen the Hooters of Council Bluffs and Davenport and we remain steadfast in our commitment to the communities through these investments,” said Dave Henninger, chief marketing officer, Hooters of America.

A statement from the company said staffers were already told about the temporary closure, and that the majority of the current employees and managers would be re-trained to continue to work at the revamped restaurant.

“Incremental enhancement to these locations will include select upgrades to building exteriors, interior features and audio visual elements, such as large-screen televisions and improved sound systems,” the company statement said.

The Council Bluffs and Davenport locations were scheduled to reopen in late July 2013.  The Davenport site is the only Hooters location in the Quad Cities area.
