Every year for the John Deere Classic, WQAD News Eight has a spot in the Pro-Am on Wednesday. This year, the station is giving it to QC Honor Flight Director Bob Morrison.

Morrison is also the development director at the Ridgecrest Nursing Home in Davenport. He started there back in 2007 and knew that many of his residents were war veterans.

Bob started his own QC Honor Flight Group just a year later. The group takes area World War Two and Korean Veterans to the memorials in D.C. that honor their service.

"One of the most rewarding things is for them to actually open up and talk about what their life was like because they just didn't think it was important anymore," Morrison said.

Morrison has done 23 honor flights since 2008. He has helped thousands of war veterans see the memorials in Washington D.C.
