The John Deere Classic starts next week. There are mixed feelings about the sport itself and I can definitely see why. Golf to a lot of people is boring and I definitely agree. There’s no way you could get me to watch a golf tournament on TV at home. Attending the John Deere Classic is different.
I think being outside and among the fans, visiting the different booths, eating from the concession stands and just enjoying the summer weather can make any sporting event worth attending. The last few years that I have attended the tournament I loved it. It’s definitely worth a few hours of your time if you can make it out.
This year I’ll be attending Wednesday through Friday and doing live weather updates from the course at the top of every hour through the afternoon. In between I plan to grab a bite to eat and explore the course. So far, the weather is looking best for Thursday and Friday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 80s.
