Brookfield Zoo in Chicago announced the birth of a baby giraffe. According to the Chicago Tribune, the newborn is 5-foot 9-inches tall and weighs over 170-pounds.
The baby boy was born on June 21, 2013 to 7.5-year-old “Jasiri,” a first-time mother. The zoo has seen nearly 60 giraffes born there.
