Two men survived when their pontoon boat went over the dam on the Cedar River at Charles City, Iowa.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reports a pontoon boat operated by 25-year-old Ryan Fisher, of Charles City, lost power and floated over the dam at about 8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013.
Rescuers found Fisher, and another Charles City man who was his passenger, on a bridge pillar downstream.
Neither man was wearing a life jacket. Both were rescued by the Charles City Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
The boat had not yet been recovered.
