Two men survived when their pontoon boat went over the dam on the Cedar River at Charles City, Iowa.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reports a pontoon boat operated by 25-year-old Ryan Fisher, of Charles City, lost power and floated over the dam at about 8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Rescuers found Fisher, and another Charles City man who was his passenger, on a bridge pillar downstream.

Neither man was wearing a life jacket.  Both were rescued by the Charles City Fire Department.  No injuries were reported.
