One dead, another injured after Muscatine shooting, police say

Officers found one person dead and one injured at a Muscatine residence after police received a complaint of a disturbance, officals say.

According to the Muscatine Police Department, officers heard multiple gunshots when they arrived to the scene on Oak Street before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Officers said the two people found on the scene had suffered gunshot wounds.

The injured person was transported to Trinity Hospital in Muscatine and later to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Police say the incident is still under investigation and the identities of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family.

The Muscatine Special Response Team was called to the scene along with Muscatine Fire Department and the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department.
