Truck crashes into railroad bridge in Davenport

A truck driver faces a charge of failing to obey a flashing light after he reportedly crashed the tractor-trailer he was driving into a bridge.

A truck driver faces a charge of failing to obey a flashing light after he reportedly crashed the tractor-trailer he was driving into a bridge.

The wreck was reported just after 9 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 after the truck struck the railroad bridge on Brady Street at Fifth Street in Davenport, Iowa.

The bridge is marked with yellow flashing lights and a yellow “Low Clearance” sign.

The top appeared peeled back on the front third of the trailer.  Authorities said the trailer was empty at the time of the crash.

Police said the driver would be cited for failure to obey a flashing light.

No injuries were reported.
