Davenport Blues Festival relocated

It’s still on, but due to flooding, a Davenport festival has been relocated.

Organizers from the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival have confirmed the site for the celebration will be on 2nd Street in Davenport. The festival is from Thursday to Saturday, July 4-6. Department of Transportation regulations forced 3rd Street to stay open as a flood detour for River Drive.

Bandshell acts will perform on an east-facing stage near Ripley Street and Tent Stage acts will perform in the courtyard area east of the River Music Experience at 2nd and Main, according to event organizers.

“This arrangement of the stages is different from our 2nd Street experience in 2008,”
said co-chair of the festival’s Entertainment Committee, Karen McFarland.

McFarland said there is more space between Main and Ripley, and the area will allow for easier security.

Tickets for the Blues Festival are available until Sunday, June 30. They can be purchased online at the event’s website, Hy-Vee locations, at Martinis on the Rock in Rock Island, Muddy Waters in Bettendorf, and Rascals in Moline.

Veterans and active military can get discounted advance tickets until June 28 at R.I.A Federal Credit Union locations.
