Nearly 10,000 MidAmerican Energy customers remained without power the day after strong storms moved through the Quad Cities area.

More than 30,000 outages were reported by MidAmerican Energy a few hours after storms struck the area Monday, June 24, 2013.

The outages were widespread with Davenport, East Moline and Moline hardest hit.  Some people whose power remained out said they were being told it could take until Wednesday afternoon for service to be restored.  Restoration timing was dependent upon the source of the outage.

The morning after the storms, 8,800 outages were still reported on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities.  Just over 2,000 of those outages were in Moline; more than 1,900 in Henry County; more than 1,300 in East Moline and more than 1,100 in Rock Island.

Illinois-side outage totals were down to just over 8,400 by about noon Tuesday.

Just over 700 outages were reported on the Iowa side, with just over 500 of those in Davenport.  The number of Davenport outages increased to nearly 1,500 at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25.
