Public Works crews will pick up limbs and branches blown down in two neighborhoods hardest hit by Monday’s strong storms.

“A free special collection of limbs and branches will start on Wednesday, June 26, 2013,

for the areas hardest hit by the storm including the Shadybrook subdivision, 65th Avenue West, and the area of 28th Street east to the Moline border south of 31th Avenue,” according to a statement from Rock Island Public Works Director Randy Tweet.

Limbs do not need to be trimmed or bundled, but should be set out at your regular garbage pickup location by 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Debris collection was expected to begin June 26 but could be delayed because of flood preparations.

Rock Island residents with storm debris outside of the designated areas should contact public works at (309) 732-2200.

Moline and East Moline are also offering storm debris pickup – for info, click here.
