SouthPark Mall was not expected to open until noon Monday, June 24, 2013 after rising water from heavy rain flooded the parking lot there.
“As the safety of our guests and retailers is our number one priority, we have closed SouthPark Mall due to the rising waters,” said a post on the mall’s Facebook page.
A spokesperson confirmed concerns over flash flooding prompted the decision to keep the mall closed until noon.
A later update indicated the mall would reopen at noon Monday.
