A Bettendorf, Iowa woman faces a charge of child endangerment with no injury after she allegedly left her baby in a car while she went to the gym.

Amanda Broihier, 27, was charged in Scott County Court on June 12, 2013.

Police said Broihier was taking the baby with her when she attended a fitness class about four times a week at Kosama Fitness Center at 1430 East 52nd Street.

Broihier reportedly stopped bringing the baby along after the facility manager told Broihier the baby could not be in the class for safety reasons.

Police said Broihier reportedly continued to attend classes without bringing the baby along.

Police were called to the gym Thursday, June 6 after another person attending the class said they saw the baby in a car seat in the parked car.

A Kosama Fitness Center employee reported seeing the baby in a car parked at the facility June 8 as well.

Broihier was charged and arrested Wednesday, June 12.   The charge is a misdemeanor.

Court records show Broihier was released from the Scott County Jail after she posted $200 bond.
