Organizers say they still need volunteers to help at this year’s Ride the River bicycle ride on Father’s Day.

The 20- or 60-mile bike ride takes bicyclists on both sides of the Mississippi River along riverfront bike trails, beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Freight House at Western and River drives in Davenport.   The route crosses the river on the Arsenal Island Bridge or cyclists can cross the river on the Celebration Belle Riverboat.

Volunteers are needed to help with traffic control between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Arsenal Island and in Moline from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Volunteers are also needed to set up cones at 5:30 a.m. and to pick up cones at 3:30 p.m. at several locations.

Volunteers receive a free t-shirt from River Action.

To volunteer, call 563-322-7433 or go online to www.riveraction.org.
