The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is giving the opportunity for outdoor-enthusiasts to share their photos this summer for a chance to win a subscription to an outdoor magazine.

Anyone can share photos of how they enjoy the outdoors and the Iowa DNR will be using them to create a Healthy & Happy Outdoors “photo quilt” in every Iowa county. According to a spokesperson from the Iowa DNR, one photographer from each county will win a one-year subscription to Iowa Outdoors Magazine.

Winning photos from each county will be placed into a statewide “photo quilt” and will be displayed at the DNR building during the Iowa State Fair.

Photo submissions can be emailed to photos@dnr.iowa.gov. Make the image 5-inches by 7-inches with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Also, include your name, phone number, and where you took the photo. Photos must be submitted by July 8, 2013.

Additional information and contest rules are available at the DNR’s website. The contest is part of the DNR’s Healthy & Happy Outdoors initiative.
