Gas prices on the rise

Gas prices in Iowa and Illinois have risen over the weekend.

The national average price for gas on Sunday, June 9 was $3.63, according to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge report. On average, Illinoisans were paying $4.19 for a gallon of regular gas, while Iowa residents were paying an average of $3.74.

Michigan had the highest average gas prices in the continental United States. On Sunday residents were paying about $4.22 per gallon of regular gas.

Some gas in Chicago is being sold for upwards of $4.65 per gallon.
