Channel Cat resumes operations as flooding recedes

Operation of the Channel Cat Water Taxi will resume Saturday, June 8, 2013 after being suspended for about a week because of flooding.

Operation of the Channel Cat Water Taxi will resume Saturday, June 8, 2013 after being suspended for about a week because of flooding.

Operators resumed Channel Cat service for the season on Friday, May 24 but it had to be suspended a week later because of rising water levels on the Mississippi River.

The Channel Cat takes passengers between four Quad Cities stops along the Mississippi River.  Only three of those locations will be available when operations resume June 8, because the John Deere Commons Landing remained closed due to flooding.
