The Scott County Board of Supervisors will vote on $35,000 worth of security upgrades to its jail Thursday.

County documents show that the computers are nearing their "end of life." The jail was remodeled back in 2007.

The board will be voting on phase two of the project Thursday. The jail would get new computers, an operating system, and monitors to watch over the 100 cameras and doors that are in the jail, according to Board Chair Larry Minard.

Documents show that the jail runs on the Windows system. It also says that the jail would like to have upgrades every three to five years if possible.

Facility workers are recommending that the board approve this project Thursday. The county would buy the material from Stanley Security Solutions. The board meeting starts at 5:30 at the Board Administration Center.
