One member of the band at an Illinois middle school may have shown us all that the key to everything really is how you handle adversity.
YouTuber sarona2617 posted video of the Red and White Concert performance of the “Star Spangled Banner,” performed by the band at Eisenhower Junior High in Darien, Illinois.
Sarona 2617 titled the video “Star Spangled Banner Cymbal Fail,” possibly because the student playing the cymbals had his musical instrument break mid-song.
The crowd rises and the National Anthem begins…and then it happens.
The young musician looks panicked only for a moment, then he takes action. He might have lost his cymbals, but he could still show patriotic spirit. He seems to follow his heart when he quickly turns, faces the flag and strikes a salute to Old Glory for the rest of the song.
