Moline detectives and state crime scene investigators converged on a wooded area off John Deere Road on Monday, part of a renewed search for the remains of Jerry Wolking.

The Moline man disappeared back in 1990, and foul play was always suspected.

Three dogs trained in searching for human remains were on site Monday, near the Green Valley Sports Complex. A backhoe could be seen through the trees, churning up dirt  in the latest hunt for Wolking.

In April, police excavated a site and took soil samples at a location in rural Milan.  The land was once owned by the parents of a longtime person of interest in the case, who has since died.

Police this week moved to the Moline location, after new information lead them there.

"Different things they found in the case lead them to believe that possibly this is the location where he ended up. So they brought in cadaver dogs to aid in the search", said Detective Scott Williams of the Moline Police Department.

"They will continue to do this until they've exhausted all leads in the case", he said.
