Davenport will have crews pick up tree limbs taken down by recent storms.

Severe weather pushed through our area Thursday, May 30, 2013 and downed limbs, trees and power lines in Davenport.

Davenport is offering a special collection for tree debris and limbs June 3 through June 7 for city solid waste customers.  Yard waste stickers will not be required for storm debris for that week.

The city normally requires bundling for tree limbs, but they are relaxing that requirement for this situation.  If you are able to bundle limbs, that is still preferred.

Tree limbs should be placed in orderly piles with the ends toward the street or alley at your usual trash pickup location.  Tree limbs should not be over five feet long and not exceed six inches in diameter.  Put small twigs and leaves in two-ply paper bags.

Bags containing grass only must still have city yard waste stickers.

Items should be at the curb on your regular collection day.   Pickup for larger piles of debris might be delayed.

Davenport residents can also drop off tree limbs and tree debris from the storm at the city’s compost facility Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and weekends between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.  You should call them first, at 563-328-7225.
