Updated at 4:59 p.m. – StormTrack 8 said storms are moving off to the east, but strong winds and heavy rains are expected to last over the Quad Cities for several minutes.
Updated at 4:49 p.m. - The storm is moving northeast toward the Quad Cities is expected to reach within the next 3 to 4 minutes. Heavy rain and high winds are expected. Sirens sounding are alerting residents to possibility of strong winds that could gust higher than 60 mph.
Updated at 4:38 p.m.- The tornado warning issued for central Muscatine County has been cancelled. StormTrack 8 said this storm has developed into a wind threat.
Original story published at 4:36 p.m. – A tornado warning has been issued for Muscatine County.
A confirmed tornado was on the ground southeast of Muscatine heading northeast. The National Weather Service said the tornado was moving at around 60 mph.
It is advised if you are in the area you take shelter. The warning is in effect until 4:45 p.m.
Storms moving northeast could reach the Quad Cities around 4:45 p.m., bringing high winds. Anything loose should be either brought inside or anchored down.
