Video: ‘Gustnado’ spotted in Whiteside County

As the storm moved northeast, communities north of the Quad Cities were hit last.

Trained spotters with the National Weather Service reported several trees and power lines down in Whiteside County and another tree-down was seen in Scott County.

Fire officials in Sterling reported a large tree that had fallen was resting on power lines around 6:15 p.m.

Another tree was reported down shortly before 6 p.m. in Jo Daviess County.

News 8 viewer, Jeff Hinton took video of the gustnado on Spring Hill and Vandam Road in Prophetstown in Whiteside County around 5:40 p.m.
