There are more high water headaches for a community that knows about flooding.
London Mills, Illinois, remains under a Flood Warning until Sunday afternoon. Heavy rain could make matters worse.
Carol Rask is racing against the clock on Thursday morning.
"Everybody's nervous," she said.
The lifelong London Mills resident is taking care of chores. That's as extreme weather keeps the Spoon River out of its banks.
"Everybody in this town is a little nervous," she continued.
Strong thunderstorms could worsen flooding along the Spoon. The river is forecast to crest nearly nine feet out of its banks on Thursday night.
"It's really got me on edge," said Rusty Dowell, London Mills. "I hate it."
Just last month a monumental mission faced the village's 400 residents. They began picking up the pieces after April flooding.
"It was fast and quick and very cold," recalled Amanda Franklin.
It left dozens of homes damaged, some beyond repair.
"They're just going to have to tear them down and forget about it," said Tom Littell, London Mills.
London Mills is trying to bounce back from the flood while bracing for another. It's more than enough high water from the Spoon River.
"Probably the worst it's been," Littell added.
As he picks up branches from earlier storms, there's more flooding on the way.
"Just keeps rising," he said.
A few steps away, the swirling current washes out Knox County 39 and fills a farm field like a lake.
"We're just kind of hoping and praying that it doesn't come up like it did before," he concluded.
Littell and the others hoping that history won't repeat along the Spoon River in London Mills.
