Flooding closes Henderson County roads

Heavy rain that caused waterways to rise resulted in some road closures in Henderson County, Illinois.

Heavy rain that caused waterways to rise resulted in some road closures in Henderson County, Illinois.

A statement from Henderson County Sheriff Steven Haynes said U.S. Highway 34 was closed east of Biggsville, Illinois because of water over the highway.  Motorists were advised to use U.S. 67 in Warren County as an alternate route.

Flaggers were helping to direct traffic on Illinois Route 94 east of Bald Bluff Town Hall, where water was over part of the road but the pavement was still passable.

Sheriff Haynes said creeks could still rise rapidly and affect area roadways.
