A group of fans attending a NASCAR race were injured when a TV cable fell from the grandstands to the track surface.
Ten fans at the Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 26, 2013 suffered injuries when a nylon rope supporting a Fox Sports overhead television camera fell, according to a report by ABC. Three of those ten were taken to the hospital for minor, non-life threatening injuries.
The incident happened during lap 121 of the 400-lap Sprint Cup race. Due to the fallen cable, the race was delayed for 27-minutes as crews repaired damage to their cars, according to the report.
No drivers were injured.
