Runners showed strength and perseverance as they came together to run in honor of the Boston Marathon bombing victims.
According to the Boston Globe, thousands of runners and supporters gathered to finish what they started. They ran the final mile of the race that was devastated by two bombings back in April.
“It’s a great way to show the strength of Boston and the camaraderie in our city,” said Liza Marie Felici, a runner who was stopped at mile 25.5 during the marathon. “That’s a sense of closure.”
About 3,000 people participated in the run which used the slogan, “we’ll get our finish.”
