After a devastating tornado, residents in Oklahoma are in need of assistance, and you can help.

It is estimated that over $2 billion in damage was done to Oklahoma City and surrounding towns after the EF5 tornado swept through on Monday, May 20.

On Friday, May 24, WQAD News 8 will join all Quad Cities television stations to collect money donations for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Donations can be dropped off at WQAD in Moline from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  WQAD is located on 16th Street at 30th Avenue next to Prospect Park, up the hill and north of SouthPark Mall.

You can also donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund any time by texting ‘REDCROSS’ to 90999 (gives a $10 donation), calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or by visiting their website.
