A driver died after a single vehicle accident on Highway 22 in Muscatine, Iowa.
According to the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, a tanker truck was heading westbound on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 around 2:30 p.m. when the truck went out of control and flipped over, ending up in a ditch.
Police say the driver, 57-year-old Gary Lenz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 22 was closed for about four hours.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources arrived to supervise clean-up of fertilizer that was leaking from the truck. The leak caused minor ground contamination.
Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
