Two 21-year-old men were given prison sentences for marijuana and gun offenses.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Lee Weekly and Colin Thompson faced charges for conspiring to sell marijuana, disposing of a firearm to a drug user, and for possessing a firearm as a drug user.

The U.S. Attorney said Thompson and Weekly would buy and sell marijuana and split the profits. Thompson also purchased an AR-15 semiautomatic assault rifle with drug proceeds and gave the rifle to Weekly.

Weekly will serve a prison sentence of 18-months and Thompson will serve 3-months, according to the U.S. Attorney.

Both Iowa men will serve three years of supervised release after they get out of prison.
