Riverboat Development Authority has six casino proposals

The Riverboat Development Authority will discuss the six casino proposals currently on the table.

Board President Mary Ellen Chamberlin said that Monday at the group's board meeting. The 12 member group is tasked with giving a new casino a gaming license.

In March, the city wanted to own a casino itself, but in early May, its plans changed. As previously reported, the city of Davenport is now teaming up with Quad City developer Rodney Blackwell to try building a $150 million casino at the I-80 and I-280 interchange. Blackwell's group would own the casino in this latest proposal.

The Riverboat Development Authority has been reviewing the proposals for the past two months. Chamberlin says they will talk about all the different options at a special meeting before June 6th. .

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will discuss Davenport's Rhythm City Casino at its June 6th meeting. City Administrator Craig Malin told us Monday he will be attending.
