Serving a tight-knit community for over 70 years

Great River Brewery in downtown Davenport has been around for over 70 years, making its own brews and serving its “tight-knit” community.

Great River Brewery in downtown Davenport has been around for over 70 years, making its own brews and serving its “tight-knit” community.

Once or twice a week beer-connoisseurs come in to the over 70-year-old business and taste the latest craft brews.

“We look at them as parties for our brewers,” said Paul Krutzfeldt from Great River Brewery. “They work hard and we want to celebrate with them, invite everyone to come in and we’re happy they do.”

After the taste-testers are gone, Paul Krutzfeldt and Scott Lehnert get back to work making new brews.

“There’s a beer for everyone and what we do is often extreme one way or another,” said Lehnert. “It’s fun you touch people a certain way.”

Great River gives brewery tours at 6 p.m. on Fridays and every hour from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
