The possibility for concealed carry is on the move in Illinois.
The Illinois Senate may vote on a plan Friday, May 17 to allow concealed carry in some public places, according to the Journal Gazette and Times Courier.
The proposal was approved Thursday by the Senate Executive Committee.
Should the measure pass, gun owners would be allowed to apply for a permit to carry firearms in public. Loaded weapons would not be allowed in schools, hospitals, or on public transit. Cities also could impose their own additional rules on concealed weapons.
