A 31-year-old Illinois man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
The victim, a 27-year-old, reported she had been beaten by a previous boyfriend on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
According to Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, the woman said she was assaulted at her residence, but was able to get away to a nearby residence, where she called the police.
She was taken to Trinity Hospital in Rock Island where she was treated for multiple injuries.
East Moline Police found the suspect and he is currently being held in the Rock Island County Jail from charges relating to a stolen vehicle on May 14, 2013.
He is being charged with 2nd degree sexual abuse and willful injury. Once released from the Rock Island County Jail, he will be sent to the Muscatine County Jail.
