Resident escapes Moline house fire through window

Fire that started in the kitchen of a Moline home forced one person to escape through a window.

Firefighters were sent to the 3200 block of 40th Street at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 after someone reported fire in a house there.  Smoke was coming from the home when firefighters arrived.

It took them about ten minute to put out the fire.

Smoke detectors helped the one person inside the home escape the fire.  Firefighters said that person got out through a window.  The resident was taken to an area hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

The fire started in the kitchen.  The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
