Waterloo, Iowa Police shot a man who allegedly threatened officers with a knife.
Police were sent to investigate a report of a man armed with a knife at an intersection in downtown Waterloo just after 1 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Police said they found the man and that he threatened officers with the knife.
One of the officers shot the man.
The man was taken to a hospital where he had surgery. His injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
The officer involved was taken off patrol and put on light duty pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident.
