An Iowa City man is accused of robbing a boy who went door-to-door looking for lawn mowing jobs.
Kevin Shannon, 61, faces multiple charges after police said he didn’t want his lawn mowed but gave $10 to a boy who was looking for lawns to mow around 3 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2013.
Shannon allegedly told the boy he was an undercover police officer.
As the boy continued going door-to-door, Shannon reportedly drove up to him, pulled out a gun and demanded the boy return his $10.
Police were called and arrested Shannon. Jail records showed police accused him of operating while intoxicated, public intoxication, impersonating a public official, first-degree harassment, assault by using/displaying a weapon and felony first-degree robbery.
Jail records showed Shannon was still in custody Monday morning, May 13.
The boy was not hurt.
