The Click-It or Ticket seatbelt campaign is in full force through the month of May.

Illinois State Police District 7 Commander, Captain Robert Atherton said it is important to buckle-up regardless if you are driving in town or on the highway.

“It’s about the lives we see saved over and over again when we respond to crash scenes,” said Captain Atherton.

Click-It or Ticket began on Friday, May 10 and runs through Monday, May 27. The Illinois State Police is joining-up with the Illinois Department of Transportation to work with law enforcement throughout Illinois counties.

Below are a few photographs of severe crash scenes the Illinois State Police in the Quad Cities area handled in the last year. According to police, these people survived because they were wearing seatbelts.
