Loebsack visits Iowa police departments, discusses issues
Congressman Dave Loebsack toured police stations before the start of National Police Week.
The Iowa politician stopped in at Davenport and Eldridge police stations on Saturday, May 11. Loebsack got a look at their gym, storage lockers, and training room. He was then taken for a ride-along.
The visit gave both law enforcement and the political side to discuss issues.
“A lot of departments are having problems getting the ammunition to stay certified,” said Sgt. Michael Colclasure. “It’s a problem I think a lot of departments are facing right now.”
Unless departments have an adequate supply of ammunition, officers cannot take their annual qualifying tests.
