A New London man was sentenced to over eight years in prison for dealing drugs from his source in Chicago.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 55-year-old Ferlin Patrick Edgington was sentenced to 100 months in prison for dealing meth and marijuana.

Police say beginning in 2007, Edgington was buying meth and marijuana from his Chicago source, Carlos Alvarado.

In June of 2012, Edgington agreed to have his home searched, and police found 130-grams of meth, seven-pounds of marijuana, and $9,370 in cash, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Officials say, in addition to his prison sentence, Edgington has also been sentenced to four years supervised release. Alvarado pleaded guilty on related charges and is awaiting sentencing.
