Updated: The man killed in a workplace accident at a local John Deere facility has been identified.

Updated:  The man killed in a workplace accident at a local John Deere facility has been identified.

The accident happened at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in a fenced area behind the building at the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois.

Ken Golden, spokesman for Deere & Company, said a person employed by a contractor was working at the facility whey there was an accident involving a semi.  A second person was hurt and taken to a local  hospital.  Other than confirming the accident involved a semi, the company did not release details of what happened in the incident.

The day after the incident, Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson sad the preliminary cause of death was multiple traumatic crushing injuries.

A trailer reportedly fell on Dwaine Hasson, 36, of Coal Valley, killing him.  The condition and identity of the other injured worker were not yet released.
