Scott Raes is officially the mayor of Moline, Illinois.
Raes was sworn in before the City Council met Tuesday evening, May 7, 2013.
Raes takes over for outgoing mayor Don Welvaert. Raes was elected when he received nearly 3,000 of the 3,659 votes cast in the April 9, 2013 election.
Raes will appoint a new council member to fill the third ward seat he has vacated.
