Through the help of donations, teachers in Taylor Ridge were able to get educational technology their students need.

Taylor Ridge Elementary school received iPads, Kindles, overhead projectors and other pieces of technology for students through a webste- donorschoose.org.

The site allows people to look at teachers’ lists of what items they need and select which projects they want to support through donations. Taylor Ridge teachers said without help many projects wouldn’t be possible.

“It’s extremely important. This year our district is closing an elementary school and laying off several teachers, said third grade teacher, Tami Naewell. “The money is just not there.”

Donations through the website helped fund almost 70 projects in the Quad Cities over the last year. All donations add up to about $40,000.
