Motorcycle and car collide in Clinton

A Clinton woman was thrown from the motorcycle she was riding when she collided with a car in a curve.

A Clinton woman was thrown from the motorcycle she was riding when she collided with a car in a curve.

The crash was reported just after 4 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in the 500 block of 7th Avenue North.

Police said 45-year-old Karla Trude of Clinton was northbound on North Bluff Road when the motorcycle she was driving veered into oncoming traffic as she rounded a curve at 7th Avenue North.   The motorcycle hit the left rear passenger door of an oncoming Chevrolet Malibu.

Trude was thrown from the bike and landed on the pavement.  Police said she was not wearing a helmet.

Trude was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Iowa City.

The driver of the Malibu was not hurt.
