Seven Moline residents are out of their home after a fire destroyed it early Monday, May 6, 2013..

It happened at the corner of 17th Street and 12th Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. Firefighters said all seven people living in the home escaped the fire; two were treated for smoke inhalation.

Smoke was seen billowing out of the home for a half an hour later.

Crews were on scene putting out a tank that reportedly exploded on the northeast side of the home about three hours after the fire started.  The fire department has not yet determined the cause of the fire.

"We're going to wait until we get the gas meter and the gas utility shut off to that structure, so that the gas is not burning to that building anymore," Moline Fire Fighter Ike Sederstrom said. "Then we'll get some heavy equipment in, and take that structure down."

About 170 MidAmerican Energy customers in Moline were without power as a result of the fire.  Traffic was also blocked on streets around the burned home.
