The man accused of trying and failing to rob a Toulon, Illinois bank reportedly said he “wasn’t very good at this” when the teller refused to give him money.

Joshua Allen Williams, 28, of Toulon is accused of wearing a plastic bag over his head when he demanded money from a teller at the State Bank of Toulon at 102 West Main Street just after 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013.

When the teller refused to give him money, Williams reportedly tore a hole in the bag over his head and said he “wasn’t very good at this”.  Then he left the bank with no money.

Stark County News reports Williams was caught when he returned to the bank about an hour later.

Williams allegedly said he wasn’t really trying to rob the bank, but that he was trying to play a joke on the bank tellers that went wrong.

Court records show Williams was charged with one count of felony financial institution robbery.  His arraignment was set for May 24 at 11 a.m.

Williams was held in the Stark County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
