A “blooming” celebration in the Quad Cities honored the lives of two impactful local artists.
The Village in Bloom Festival of the Arts honored the lives of John and Isabel Bloom on Sunday, May 5. Located in the Village of East Davenport, activities for the whole family drew in local art-lovers.
Children were able to participate in art activities such as a wall mural, face painting and side walk art.
“Encouraging children to look at art and be creative is kind of my focus,” said Isabel Bloom employee, Donna Young. “Isabel was very into working with children and letting them know that everybody’s creative in their own way.”
There were also performances and a showcase of Jon and Isabel’s original art works in the firehouse.
