Construction season is underway closing roads around the Quad Cities.
Illinois
In East Moline, the south side service road of the Avenue of the cities is closed to through traffic at Archer Drive.
The Illinois Department of Transportation said crews will be making drainage repairs, closing the road from Monday, May 6 through Wednesday, May 8, 2013, weather permitting. Businesses on the service road will be reachable from 11th Street.
In Galesburg, the BNSF Railway Company will close the South Henderson Street railway crossing, south of Main Street on Monday. The crossing will be closed from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Also Gunther Construction has plans to close the McClure Street Bridge in Galesburg starting Monday through Tuesday, May 14 for bridge deck and railing repairs.
Iowa
The City of Clinton said Pershing Blvd. will be closed to through traffic from 8th Ave. North to 13th Ave. North on Monday and Tuesday. 9th Ave. North from N. 2nd Street to Pershing Blvd. will also be closed to through traffic.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Pershing Blvd. will be closed to through traffic from 13th Ave. North to 18th Ave. North.
Motorists are reminded to drive slowly and carefully through work zones.
