String of vehicle burglaries reported in Dixon

Police say within a 12-hour period, thieves broke into several vehicles that were left unlocked in the north side of Dixon, Illinois.

According to the Dixon Police, they received numerous complaints of burglaries that occurred sometime between the evening hours of Wednesday, May 1 through the early morning hours of Thursday, May 2, 2013.

Four of the five incidents were within 1-mile of each other- on Hubbell Drive, 4th Ave., 2nd Ave., and East McKenney. The fifth vehicle was a couple miles north on Lowell Park Road.

Police said they do not know who was involved in the burglaries.
